April 2014 Newsletter

Are we ready for spring yet!   Are we ready for mud now!   Hopefully this phase won't last as long as winter did.

We are excited to see Jo and Kelli Kramer’s project on the cover of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. It is a red, white and blue quilt called Red, White and Oooh. When they picked out the fabrics, Jo and Kelli asked us if we’d like to make up kits for the quilt. Of course, we said yes. The kits are ready to go. New fabrics that have come in are:

Timeless Treasures has outdone themselves with two beautiful springy panels, all in vibrant shades of blues with a touch of metallics. Bluebirds shows a field scene with several bluebirds and Tiffany has the look of a floral stained glass window.

Golf Club by Blank.   There are three bolts, one with a sepia tone allover scene and one each of allover golf balls and tees and the other golf clubs. We have done up a lap with the pattern Times Three and a runner Divided By Three.

Bringing Home Nature is a jungle animal panel that we have done up in Just Can't Cut It.   Elizabeth's Studio Hoos Tree is a cute wild animal fabric.   We have a few coordinates from the RJR Red River III, a cowboy themed fabric. Wilmington’s Wild at Heart is here. It has a nice panel and stripe with three coordinates with horses.

Kaufman’s new North American Wildlife 2 is here.   The wildlife panel is similar to last year’s but lighter colors. There are three coordinates to it. Another piece in this series is an awesome horse panel, also designed by Jody Bergsma. Very different colors and real artsy spin on horses. Pretty awesome.

We have a few bolts of Kaufman’s Kalahri batiks. We have been able to reorder Pheasant Country from Quilting Treasures. It is the most beautiful pheasant ever!

Our new kits are Summerwind Farm in Oh Henry and Cat Tails by Clothworks is done up in the same pattern.   It looks so much like a summer pond that it's been popular.   I am sure when it's 100 degrees it will still look inviting.

We have also come up with a pattern for the big Farmall and Case panels. Makes it a nice lap size, good graduation present. A new blue fabric by Blank called Radiant has a fun modern pattern called Beyond Horizons. It is very modern for us. We did Marsha MaCloskey’s blue line, Everything Blue, in a large lap double nine patch.   It is very crisp looking.

New charm packs are Holly Taylor's batik Pine Island and her Woodland Summer. Laundry Basket’s Jelly Bean batiks are here too.

Kansas Troubles’ Token of Friendship charms and candys are pretty neat as are   Primitive Gatherings’ Primitive Homestead charms and candys.

Spring is finally here!

May 2014 Newsletter

Spring is finally here. We will be mowing before we know it. Our May special is baby fabric and baby panels 25% off. We need to make more room for new exciting fabrics to come. We will be adding to our clearance fabric throughout the month.

The All Iowa Shop Hop fabric just came in. The main feature fabric has a vintage map as the background with a wide border of black and white quilt blocks on one side. The two coordinates are reprints of last year but in a light cream/dark cream tonal and a white/grey tonal. The fabric is available to pre-order, but can't leave the shop until June 1. The shop hop runs June 1 to June 31. There won't be any of our usual 20% sales but we will try and give you deals elsewhere. The passport will soon be available online or we will have them here at the shop. This year All Iowa is doing a full-color magazine, available for $5 or free with a $25 purchase. The magazine has ads for all 94 shops and patterns for each region. Each store will give you a charm square of their shop hop color, our color is sunflower.

The new Quilt Sampler magazine is here. This year there is an Iowa shop, Inspirations in Hills. Kim Diehl's new book, Simple Appeal, is here also. Through the Winter Woods is a new book by Antler Designs. Soon will come the Holly Taylor line to go with it.

New lines of fabric are Homestead Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings from Moda, as well as charms and minis. Harvest Breeze from Red Rooster pretty awesome, rich fall colors with gold metallic. Moda's Holly Taylor line Woodland Summer with matching charms. Moda's Laundry Basket Jelly Bean line is here with charms and yardage. Fun bright colors. Wilmington's new line is Before the Frost. A beautiful deer in classic Iowa woods and colors. The pattern is a nice size too, 76x 84. A nice size with lots of potential to make it bigger.
A children's flannel, Whistlepig Farm is a cute farm theme line. We are working on the twin size.The collection includes a panel and stripe.

Christmas is here, in fabric only! Kansas Troubles' Christmas collection, Holly Wishes-- in charm packs and jelly rolls. Benartex Seasons Greetings is a gorgeous Christmas in black, red, green and gold metallics. Winter Wonder Land from Moda's Bunnyhill Designs is a great red and white collection.

Five new batik wide backs came in, colors are light blue, medium blue, dark blue, gold and light purple multi.

Our first Halloween collection came in today. It's Halloween H'owl from Marcus with a cute panel that makes into a small lap, in orange, black, purple, greens and yellow.

What a fun winter...haha.. Hope at least you have been able to have extra sewing days, I know we have.
New collections in are Quilting Treasures Winter Birds. It is a neat bird fabric with mourning doves, chickadees, cardinals, nuthatches, and bluejays done in very nice colors and to correct scale! We have done up Pieced Tree's Cuddle 3 quilt pattern in a 64" square lap.
Kaufman's Kalahari African animals is here waiting for someone to come up with the perfect pattern. They are batiks. Elizabeth Studio's new woodland animals Woos Tree is here also waiting for the perfect pattern. Fields of Gold by Maywood is a neat country feel with pretty coordinates. It is a panel with soft colors. We got Radiant from Blank in the blue color way. We did find the perfect pattern, Beyond Horizons, made especially for this fabric. It is a neat modern quilt, 51 x 72.

More wide backs have come in. On order are four new batik backs, hopefully they will be here for spring shop hop, April 10-12. Charm packs from Primitive Gathering, Homestead Gatherings are.here, also in the candys. There are some new patterns just for them. We have gotten the Blanks 2.5 " stripes in bright colors, they look perfect for baby or graduation quilts.

Our Spicy Spiral tablerunner class is Friday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. or Saturday, Feb.22 at 1 p.m. and the second class will be the following Friday and Saturday. Class fee is $15. Call if you've not already signed up and want to take the class

January 2014 Newsletter

Now that we are able to go out in the cold again ....because of the heat wave....you will be all fired up to do a little shop hopping.

Our annual winter shop hop starts Wednesday, and runs through Saturday. It is now a three stop shop hop. Queen Jeans (downtown Waukon) and Forest Mills hours are 10 to 6, while Country Stitchin's hours are 9 to 5. There will be 20% off with a few exceptions at each shop.

It has been a slow last 6 weeks for new fabrics coming in but we have been busy doing some new samples.
Shenandoah is our new fav. Done in our favorite Autumn, Kaufman mountain scene, and a eagle fabric. It's small 31" but the pattern goes up to a queen size.

We are offering a two session class on the Spicy Spiral table runner. At shop hop we will have a sign up sheet. There will be two times on Saturday, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.  If it works out better for enough people we could do it on Friday, Jan. 24 and 31. Many of you have the ruler and pattern but haven't tried it. Our guild had a retreat class on it that I took last fall and it's a lot of fun and really fun! We do have rulers and patterns available also. There will be samples on display. It's addicting just like most intriguing patterns.

Carolyn took a picture of three robins at our bubbler before the COLD spell but we haven't seen them since. We like to think they took a trip south! It has been that slow that is our high point of 2014!

December 2013 Newsletter

The new Pieced Tree patterns are here....13 with some fun new ideas. There is a tree skirt, several larger lap quilts and some with a variety of pre-cuts.

A few new wide backs have come in, one flannel in a charcoal color. Cat Tails is a new cat line arrived from SPX Fabrics. We've done it in the wonderful Bricks pattern. Bricks is the perfect pattern for horizontal panels so we did it in the In Cahoots black and gold collection with religious sayings in the panel.

The new Pine Island batiks from Moda are on the UPS truck, we expect to have them the first part of next week.

Remember Duckie the orphan kitten, well she is starting to get into that fun stage, all legs and running around. Carolyn didn't want to say too much because she was afraid she wouldn't make it. She beat the odds.

Saturday, Nov. 30 is the Country Christmas Craft Boutique at the Postville school. It runs from 9-3, with a multitude of crafters selling homemade items. Come see us there!

November 2013 Newsletter

An update on Duckie. Duckie is the name we chose for the newborn orphan kitten many of you saw at shop hop. He is now 15 days old and gaining every day. He's been to Cedar Rapids and to Gays Mills for apples. Quite the little traveler and as most babies he likes car rides. He'll be 10 weeks old at Christmas - hint, hint.

Thanks all for coming to shop hop. It is so much fun to see what inspires you.

Late last week we received the new line,  In Cahoots from Henry Glass. It is designed by Country Caboodle. It is a gorgeous black, yellow, and gold with a panel with religious sayings. There are three neat free patterns on their web site.

The Real Tree fish panel came in. It's a bass, 36 x 44". We have done up the last year’s Real Tree deer and cabin in a new wall size. It looks like you are looking out a window and the pieced border is a preprinted stripe. Quick, simple and inexpensive. We also have it done in a lap size that is simple but striking.

Charns and jelly rolls from Laundry Basket's new Hope Chest batiks are here. Sweet Pea from Kansas Troubles is here in charm packs.
We did up kits in Pieced Tree patterns of some of the new Christmas fabrics for some quick ideas for gifts.
A cute baby quilt with a jungle counting theme 36x44 panel has come in, in unisex colors. That size is so nice for a quick baby quilt, just quilt and bind.
Marsha McCloskey's new line Everything Blue from Clothworks is here. If you like blue it's very pretty.

We have the complete line of Utopia from Timeless Treasures. It is vivid batik colors with a black background butterfly. Great line for some of the Mountain Peak patterns or a row by row.

We have two new lines from Blank. Pansy Passion that has pansies and butterflies. Gorgeous colors. Kitty Kat is a neat line drawing of cats, cat eyes and paws. It is in two color ways, one black, tan and brown and the other is bright colors -- both with black backgrounds. We have several bolts from Elizabeth Studios line A Stitch in Time. Bring Nature Home from Kaufman is a jungle theme print with blocks.

Yesterday was a wonderful day for Fedex, with a cool order from Benartex. One is a horse theme, called Best of the West and the other is I Want My Space. The space themed one has two oversized panels -- with the moon and the other is a view of the earth from outer space. It has some neat coordinates also. There are two free patterns for them, too.

A Soldier’s Story came in today, from Studio E. It’s a Civil War panel with coordinates.

Another fun thing we did is the Spicy Spiral table runner. The ruler will be here next week but e already have the pattern. Looks harder than it is and fun ,fun.

What is left of Halloween kits and fabric is 25% off. We got carried away this year because it was so cute.

More fun news is Pieced Tree is coming out with 13 new little card patterns. We are in the dark too about what they are but have ordered them because we know they will be good. They will be released after market. IF Carolyn and Duckie had gone to Houston we could have had them sooner!

Happy fall and soon to be Halloween! Speaking of Halloween, select Halloween fabric will be 20% off starting today

Some of the new fabrics in are Plume from Timeless Treasures, they redid the peacock in all shades of blue with metallic. Rich,rich, rich. That line is kitted up in Center Stage, an awesome wall hanging pattern from Mountain Peak. We also did a new Asian line in that pattern too.
A new music line from Blank has arrived, it has two different piano key borders and is in blacks and whites. Haven't come up with the perfect pattern yet but it's out there, just waiting.
Some new blenders from In The Beginnings are here. They are very small dots that almost twinkle. Cocoa is my favorite color. We gotten in various Batiks that our nice but our favorite line is called Quilted in Honor that is red, white and blue. It has a nice flag panel.
The new Real Tree goose and deer are in. It is a vertical 36x44 panel with some nice coordinates.
Winter Stillness from Wilmington is a cool winter deer standing in the woods with a cabin in the background. It has a lot of blue in it so of course we like it. It is kitted up in a medium lap size.

New wide backs have arrived. Some from Paintbrush Studio, mostly in grays, are 118" wide. We have wide backs in many different colors, over 90 to choose from. One is a black with a metalic swirl in it. A brown wide flannel has come in too, with eight more on order.

Our Year To Crow About BOM has started. Not to late to jump on the band wagon. Next year's BOM will be Edyta Sitar's fusible appliqué seasonal wall hangings. Sign up now.

The show schedule is picking up, this weekend is Spring Grove Uffda Days. Quilts for sale will be on display Fridayafternoon and on Saturday.
October 11-13 is New Albin's show. It starts Friday  at 4 and runs till Sunday. They are having new quilts, antique quitls and several cow quilts that everyone will get a kick out of:   Flood cow, Biker Bossy, Marilyn Moonroe to name a few. The show's proceeds go to the library so it is a good cause to support.
We are in Galena, Illinois, Nov. 9-10 and Clear Lake the following Friday/Saturday. That is a shopping spree in a hotel conference room that is fun...all shops under one roof, no driving all over! More on those later.

Summer 2013 Newsletter

Rain drops keep falling on my head.......but that doesn't stop me from quilting! Well, maybe it has slowed us up some.
As some may have heard we had more than 7 feet of flood water in the basement. Luckily, nothing made it into the shop. So we are open, stop in and see us.
We've had wonderful help from friends, family and neighbors these past five days. There wasn't much in the basement but when it is in water logged cardboard boxes and mud it is twice as difficult to handle. So we are finally down to the power washing with the bleach. We are moving on to the garage so hopefully by the weekend we can get back to some normality.

The UPS truck has still made it thru...a new flannel north woods panel and coordinates, some new batiks and Moda's 3 Sisters Wintergreen line, neat black, greens and reds.
The new Japanese is Kona Bay's Garden of Dreams. It has peonies and other rich colors with a panel.
Icicles Kisses from Kansas Troubles is here in the usual rich KT colors, charms, layer cakes and jelly rolls. Maywood has a Halloween line done up into a cute little wall hanging and runner and of course it is kitted up.
Some wide backs have come in, two Holly Taylor batiks in purples and greens, and Moda's Wintergreen has two, one in black and one in olive green.
I almost forgot that from Print Concepts is the new adult Caterpillar and the children's line of Tonka toys in a sandbox. There is a neat pattern in the new magazine, Quilt It Today, at $3.99, that we did up for the Caterpillar. And of course it is kitted up!
We have a new Halloween runner, the Twister from Pieced Tree, kitted up.

All we have left of the All Iowa Shop Hop fabric is one twin size kit of the Onyx color and a few runner kits of the other colors. It seemed like all the hoppers had a good time, especially when you're on the road with friends, doing what you like! We are looking forward to it next year already. Put it on your calendar, June 1 thru 20, 2014.
Speaking of calendars, mark July 5-6 in Williamsburg for a quilt show we will be vending at.
We will be doing our Two Stop Shop Hop with Country Stitchin' July 24-27th. You should be able to make it in a couple of hours.
August is the Oelwein quilt show.
We hope to see you all this summer, you know it is not over yet!

Have we all been enjoying this weather? Certainly been enjoying the snow days to sew. But not all the shoveling. And now there's more on its way.

We are celebrating the first anniversary of our new addition and also our tenth year. How time flies. We are starting a sale on patterns and books, 25% off from March 16-30. We will also have 20% off end-of-the-bolt purchase.

We have had some fun days doing up samples of some new collections. The latest one is called Who's on First by Benartex.   It is a small throw with vintage baseball players panels and some cool coordinates.

Our all-time favorite fabric is a fall tree printed as yardage, called Nature, from Timeless Treasures. It is so realistic, just super in the pattern Oh Henry and Trifecta, a new fav from Mountainpeek Creations. Trifecta makes a large lap that reminds you of looking out a window. We did a new Japanese with Trifecta also.

Kaufman did a jungle called Wild Africa. By the same designer who did our favorite North American Wildlife. The colors are so vivid and realistic. We did our favorite Bricks pattern with the jungle. It is really, really nice. We've also done a horse print in the Bricks. It is such a nice pattern for horizontal prints or panels.

We got the queen-size kits finalized for the blue deer we call the Iowa Deer.

The Thimbleberries Lake Lodge is quilted and kitted. It is a large panel with bobbers, boat, fish, lounge chair and vintage pail. It a perfect one for a lakeside cottage, it is a double size. Summer wind Farm by South Seas is a small farm collection. Marblehead Northwoods by Paintbrush Studios is another woodsy collection. Exclusively Quilter has out Hooks and Ladders, a vintage fire truck which is a panel and an allover. They also have a Red Fox that is neat.

Clothworks has a neat Cattails line called Water Lillies. Ours has the white background.
On Friday, we got in fifteen batiks from Island Batiks. The new Island Batiks Stripe Tease strips in these color ways: Firecracker, Walnut Bark, Wild Truffle, and Lucky Potato.

We have gotten in some new bolts of black and whites. We ordered two stripes, one with black on white, and one with white on black. Can't wait to do something with it. We've gotten some new fusions blenders in and some new whites.

Moda's Indigo Crossing is here in charms and jelly rolls and eight of its bolts. Coming in April will be the complete collection of Primitive Gatherings Snowmen that will go nicely with it.

We are in month three of our Amish With a Twist. It is not too late to start it, most people are getting the blocks done on time because they are easy. It's the colors that people like. We also have some complete kits if you want to do it all at one time.

We are starting to get the sample done for the BOM "A Year To Crow About" from Red Rooster. It is a panel with crows doing monthly things that you cut apart a piece different things around them to make them 15" blocks. We are doing them as 12 different small wall hanging so we are giving customers the choice...either as wall hanging or a large quilt. We plan on starting it in June.

Speaking of June, besides that we will be in the All Iowa Shop Hop, June 1--20. There are 82 shops in it all over the state and there will be bus tours going to other Iowa shops. Ask your local shop.

Our North East Iowa Shop Hop with 7 shops will be April 11-13. The hours will be 8-6 p.m. And 20% off!!!

Carolyn will be traveling to Ames for the Shopping Spree the first Friday and Saturday in April (April 5-6). If you've never been to one of them, they are fun. There are about 13 shops under one roof at the Holiday Inn. A chance to visit different shops in one stop.

December 2012 Newsletter

Merry Christmas to all. We have had Christmas here too!! UPS and FedEx have been here every other day,
but like the rest of you we will see the bills in the mail next month. It has been fun though.

The new fabrics we have gotten in are a big panel of deer, eagles, and Case and Farmall tractors. They are 44x36.

The Case one is the new tractor and the Farmall is nostalgic. There are coordinates to go along.
The new line of Holly Taylor is here with her usual neat leaves and rich colors.
Kaufman has come out with a peacock in taupe, gray blue, gold and cream. It is the same as last year's bright one.
Moda's Double Chocolate has beautiful rich colors, red, dark brown and teal.

Thimbleberries Lake Life is a very neat lodge look with large panels. The coordinates are bobbers and a allover print. Metropolitan Fair by Barbara Brackman is gorgeous with that wonderful Moda feel. It has two coordinating wide backs.
We have gotten in more wide backs, and many more on order. We have been trying to find some that are less expensive for the people who do charity quilts.
Primitive Gathering precuts are here to go with all the prints. They are so awesome. The little sheep are adorable.

In the horse line, we have one from Quilting Treasures called Wild Horses. It has horses with alot blues and the coordinates are creams, sand and browns.
Wild Wings has a large panel, pillow panels and some coordinates. Timeless Treasures has a horse by Greg & Co.
It has some neat allover coordinates, a beautiful stripe and small blocks.

One of our very first lines we had in the store was Moda's Paris Flea Market. It has been their most requested line to reprint. So they have. The charm packs, layer cakes and jelly rolls will be here next week and the bolts will be in next year. Soft pinks, yellows and greens.

I am saving the best for last.......the new Real Tree deer is here and it did not disappoint. The colors are very deep and rich browns and golds. We have come up with a queen size quilt using the panel. It's been a winner. It's a must have for all wildlife lovers.

October 2012 Newsletter

The leaves are almost gone and now it is time to store up fabric for a long winter!!! We hope it will be a short snow season.

Our events this fall include our local Northeast Iowa Quilt Guild Northern Lights show at the Decorah Middle School on Saturday, Oct. 20 (10-5) and Sunday, Oct. 21 (10-4)

We will be in Manchester for their show Quilting Treasures at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 3 (9-5) and Sunday, Nov. 4 (10-4) and The North Iowa Quilters One-stop Shopping Spree on Friday, Nov. 9 (10-5) and Saturday, Nov. 10 (10-4), The spree is held at the Best Western Holiday Lodge ( I-35/US18 exit 194 west). It is like a big shop hop you can walk to, about 13 vendors around the room, nice weather inside too!

Our new favorite pattern " Bricks" from Mountainpeek Creations is great for horizontal panels but also works for focus fabrics. We have done it up in Dr. Seuss, Christmas, fall, Star Wars and race cars.

We just got in some new patterns and books for charm packs and jelly rolls, already have big ideas for them.

The pattern Divided by Three is a really neat table runner that can be made into a big quilt too. Hopefully by show time we will have our new black and gold line made up into the throw size.

New fabrics in are Kansas Troubles' Harvest Moon, with its precuts. Other new ones is a Japanese line called Imperial 8 by Kaufman in bronze and blue. We have it done up with the pattern Spotlight. We've did another pattern Sidelines with the Stephanie Brandenburg new line. We have received some new batik bolts too. Barbara Brackman's Metropolitan Fair is a new charm we have in.

We are excitedly waiting for, and trying to figure out where we are going to put it, the complete line of Primitive Gatherings, and the half collection of Double Chocolate and Holly Taylor's new line and of course all their friends: jelly roll, layer cakes and charms.

November 2012 Newsletter

Welcome to November, where did October go?

We are having a sale Monday-Saturday (Nov. 5-10) celebrating Carolyn's 50th birthday. The problem is she is going to be gone for her big day Nov. 9. So we will celebrate from Monday through Saturday with or without her. She also is a poll worker so will be gone on the 6th. But the rest of us can celebrate with cookies and coffee, I won't let her take them with her to Clear Lake Thursday afternoon-Saturday. It's a shopping spree weekend in a hotel there, a big shop hop under one roof. Go visit her there!

This has been a very busy two weeks for fabric. The complete line of Old Glory Gatherings is here. It is neater in real life than on paper. We had a sneak preview of the next winter collection coming next year and is it ever cute. A line called Big Red from Quilting Treasures has a neat quick pattern showcasing IH tractors. Of course there is a kit for that.

We got out of our box and ordered a line called Extraordinary Colors from In The Beginnings. It has a story book about different colors with the quilt pattern in it. Cute and good size, 54 x 72.
The bolts of Double Chocolate are here from Moda and Metropolitian Fair is coming next week from Moda too. We have renewed our stash of creams and whites with 15 new ones.

Soon we will have the "man" quilt, Vintage Tin from CrabApple Hill done. It highlights gas stations, oil cans and license plates.
New kits are three versions of quilts done with the new black and gold line from Timeless Treasures. It has a leaf pattern thet is neat. We did Divided By Three with it. We also have new Pieced Tree runner kits done, Scrappy Do in Kansas Troubles, Mad About Plaid in Primititive Gathering Christmas colors, and Square Times in red, white and blue.

Our new favorite pattern Bricks is kitted up in Dr. Suess, Star Wars, race cars, Red Rooster's Weeds and Tweeds, construction and Christmas. It is a fun pattern to showcase a panel or focus fabric and its coordinates.

I hope everyone is getting alot of quilting done in this heat wave. The only thing better would be if we were indoors because it's raining!

Events
The Two Stop Shop Hop is Wednesday thru Saturday July 25-28. Country Stitchin' and Forest Mills are doing the 4-day, 20 percent off sale. We guarantee you will get it done in one day.

Our bag summer shop hop started July and will run to August 31. Stephanie Brandenburg's Flower Bomb Daydreams III collection from Camelot Cotton is here. Her brand new collections from Frond Design Studio Edible Garden and Plaster of Paris will be here Wednesday morning.

We got in a new kids flannel called "Funny Farm", it is really cute with some neat coordinates. "Too Many Men" from Red Rooster is here for winter. New Christmas from Windham, Winter Wonderland and Henry Glass with his collection Oh Holy Night. Our Halloween collections are : Witcvy Poo from RJR, Halloween Masquerade by Red Rooster and In The Beginnings Halloween. New is Boyd's Bears in flannel from Sprectrix. The Timeless Treasures apples with cream and red background is here too. Some new Civil War additions from Marcus. Our new flannel charms and layer cakes from Holly Taylor Shaded Oaks are here waiting for their companion prints. We also have Kona Cotton jelly rolls with pastels, brights and creams. We have the creams in charms and layer cakes too. Several new Farmall prints have come in. RealTree has another set of fantastic wildlife coming out this fall.

We had a busy June with sales reps displaying all their wares from market. It was impossible to pick our favorites from the new Moda Primitive Gatherings' patriotic grouping so we had to get the whole collection. Bad news, it won't be here till October. From Red Roster we ordered their BOM "Something to Crow About". We are going to break it into wallhangings also because it is a nice size that way too.

We had an exciting All Iowa shop hop. Met alot of new quilters and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We are looking forward to doing it again next year, maybe with some special Iowa fabric. A quilter from Omaha, Nebraska, was the lucky winner of our in-store drawing..

We took a day off last month and hit several shops to the west. Had a great time at Debbie's in Osage, Quilted Forest. Country Threads, and Quilters Garden. We picked up new Tiny Ones from Pieced Tree and some patterns from Country Threads. We love visiting different shops, everyone has a different flavor.

Moda's Primitive Gatherings

You can't get much better than the collections designed by Primitve Gatherings. The new Seasonal Little Gatherings just arrived at the shop. We have the layer cakes, charm packs, jelly rolls and a large selection of the yardage. We also have a large selection of her earlier Little Gatherings collection. They are luscious!
